Managing Director, Business Banking
Overview:
This role combines strategy and execution—spanning product innovation, digital acquisition, and real-time payments—to deliver a modern, advisory-led experience for small to mid-sized businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Leadership: Define the vision, roadmap, and operating plan; own P&L and growth strategy across markets and segments
- Product & Payments: Modernize deposit products and lead innovation in payments (real-time, invoicing, cash-flow tools)
- Lending Oversight: Lead end-to-end small business lending, including credit strategy, underwriting, LOS, and portfolio performance
- Digital Growth: Drive online acquisition, improve conversion and speed-to-decision, and enhance digital onboarding
- Data & AI: Implement segmentation, lifecycle strategies, and AI-driven insights to deepen client relationships
- Market Presence: Serve as a visible leader in the business community and build strong external partnerships
- Risk & Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and oversee vendor governance
- Team Building: Build and lead a high-performing team; coach and develop talent
Qualifications
- 7-10+ years in business banking, SMB lending, or deposit/product leadership
- Proven experience building or scaling SMB platforms or business lines
- Strong financial, analytical, and strategic skillset
- Deep knowledge of banking regulations and risk management
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
