You will be responsible for the custom design and execution of automation systems, working closely with internal teams and customers to deliver engineered-to-order solutions. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from concept through production and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Design custom automation and material handling systems based on customer requirements
- Collaborate with Sales and Applications Engineering to define project scope and specifications
- Develop 3D system designs and layouts using CAD tools
- Lead projects with a hands-on approach from concept through manufacturing support
- Ensure projects are completed on time and meet performance expectations
- Interface directly with customers to clarify requirements and support project execution
- Support manufacturing, assembly, and system implementation as needed
- Source and specify components from approved vendors
- Participate in system testing, validation, and final sign-off prior to shipment
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or engineered systems
- Strong proficiency with 3D CAD tools (Inventor or similar) and AutoCAD
- Solid understanding of mechanical design principles and system integration
- Exposure to PLCs and electrical controls is a plus
- Competitive base salary (mid-$80K to low-$90K range)
