Position Summary
The Power Systems Engineer will conduct system studies on electrical distribution, generation, and transmission systems. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and supports a variety of customer projects across multiple industrial markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform short circuit, overcurrent coordination, load flow, and arc flash analyses for industrial, commercial, and energy clients.
- Communicate regularly with customers to ensure project deliverables meet specifications and timelines.
- Conduct simulations involving harmonics, transients, and system stability under the guidance of senior engineering staff.
- Prepare detailed technical reports with clear conclusions and actionable recommendations.
- Perform field measurements or data collection at customer facilities when required.
- Travel approximately 5–15% for site visits, data gathering, equipment labeling, or client meetings.
- EI/EIT certification preferred, with a desire to obtain a PE license.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power systems analysis and project management.
- Background in industrial or utility distribution and transmission analysis, substation design, and electrical power system protection and control.
- Proficiency with power system analysis software such as SKM, ETAP, EasyPower, EDSA, Windmil, PSPICE, or similar tools.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
