Heather is a Partner and Executive Recruiter in the Nonprofit Practice at ThinkingAhead. Since joining the team in 2019, she has led efforts to partner with nonprofits that focus on human rights and social impact. With a passion for supporting organizations that drive social change, Heather has cultivated long-lasting partnerships and continues to expand her reach within these vital sectors. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration: Marketing and Management from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN.

Living in South Minneapolis, Heather is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys road biking, camping, and hiking. She brings the same energy for personal growth and community building into her work, believing in continual self-development and spreading kindness. About Jamal Sekou

Jamal Sekou is an Associate Partner on the Nonprofit team at Thinking Ahead Executive Search with over a decade of experience in executive recruitment, sales leadership, and organizational strategy. He is known for his consultative approach and his ability to connect organizations with leaders who bring both cultural fit and strategic vision.

A Detroit native, Jamal has built his career at the intersection of public service, nonprofit program management, and private sector leadership. Before joining Thinking Ahead, he founded The Job Plugs, a national recruitment and workforce solutions firm. The firm earned a reputation for client centered service, a focus on diversity in leadership, and adaptability to unique market demands.

Jamal’s work has consistently involved building strong partnerships with executives, boards, and stakeholders. He understands the importance of trust, collaboration, and delivering results that last.

Now based in New Jersey with his wife and young son, Jamal values the balance between professional drive and personal connection. Outside of work, he enjoys exploring his passion for cars, good food, spending time on the golf course, and rooting for the Detroit Pistons and Lions.
