
About Greg Boucher, CPC
Greg is the President of ThinkingAhead Executive Search and an accomplished executive recruiter. He has been a search professional for 41 years, serving a select group of clients at the executive and senior leadership levels. Greg also mentors a growing team of 40 executive recruiters spanning 11 distinct industries nationwide.
After interning with ThinkingAhead’s sister company, Southwestern Advantage, Greg helped establish Southwestern Business Resources in 1982, connecting Southwestern Advantage alumni with sales careers. He later helped transform the company into ThinkingAhead in 2012, transitioning from providing career services to retained nationwide executive search. Since his appointment as President in 2015, ThinkingAhead has garnered national recognition from Forbes, Manage HR Magazine, and the National Association of Personnel Services.
Under Greg’s leadership, ThinkingAhead has conducted over ten thousand successful executive searches and managed to maintain profitability through multiple economic downturns, including the 2020 Pandemic. Greg has led multiple initiatives to make high standards of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion a hallmark of ThinkingAhead’s process, investing in training, DEI certification for Research Associates, and ultimately being recognized as a Top Executive Search Firm for Women of Color for three consecutive years. He also forged the firm’s Headhunters to Heroes program, crafting philanthropic relationships with Habitat for Humanity and PENCIL.
Greg also contributes to the broader leadership of ThinkingAhead’s parent, Southwestern Family of Companies, one of the largest and oldest private corporations in Tennessee. Along with serving on the board of directors for several years, he spearheaded SWFC’s initiative to become an Employer of Choice by emphasizing a commitment to employee well-being and development. Since then, SWFC’s workplace culture has been recognized by The Nashville Business Journal, The Tennessean, and USA Today, including receiving a Work/Life Flexibility award.
Recognized as a thought leader in the world of executive search, Greg has been a sought-after trainer for the National Association of Personnel Services, the First Interview Network, and the Tennessee Association of Personnel Services. He is also an active participant in PMA, a roundtable of independent global search firms.
Greg has served on the boards of numerous business and community organizations, including the Middle Tennessee Better Business Bureau, Rotary International, The Adult Literacy Council, Boy Scouts of America, and The Family Foundation.
A graduate of the University of Florida, Greg has a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Political Science. He is an avid water sports and nature enthusiast. He and his wife, Hilary, have four children and make their home in Franklin, Tennessee.
