Business Development Officer - Vendor
Vice President, Sales – Vendor Financing (Small-Ticket Equipment Finance)
Location: Remote — must be based in a major U.S. metro area Job Type: Full-Time Compensation: $105,000–$110,000 base salary (DOE) + uncapped origination-based incentive plan
About the Opportunity
We're looking for a proven small-ticket vendor finance producer to step into a senior, individual-contributor sales role with an established and growing equipment finance platform. This is a producing VP role — not a management position — built for someone who already owns a book of vendor relationships and can generate new originations from day one.
If you're an experienced equipment finance sales professional who wants autonomy, a real incentive plan tied directly to what you close, and the backing of a team that knows small-ticket vendor finance, this is worth a conversation.
What You'll Do
- Own and manage your own pipeline from prospecting through closing — full accountability for origination volume, yield, and profitability.
- Generate new business through proactive prospecting (in person and virtual) of small-ticket equipment vendors and select direct end-use customers.
- Leverage your existing industry network and vendor relationships to drive immediate and sustained production.
- Identify, solicit, and onboard new vendor relationships aligned with target markets, engaging at the C-suite/senior leadership level to build long-term partnerships.
- Structure and quote transactions, present tailored financing solutions, and support deal flow directly with end users when needed.
- Represent the company at industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
- Partner with credit, operations, and servicing teams to ensure smooth onboarding, funding, and portfolio support.
- Share market insights to help shape products, vendor programs, and go-to-market strategy.
What You Bring
Required:
- 10+ years in equipment finance with a primary focus on small-ticket vendor financing.
- A demonstrated, verifiable track record of individual sales production and profitable origination.
- Minimum 5 years of success in new vendor development and ongoing account management.
- End-to-end experience developing, structuring, and managing vendor programs.
- Strong knowledge of lease/loan documentation, including negotiating directly with end-user borrowers.
- Advanced transaction structuring and pricing skills (including TValue or similar financial calculators).
Strongly Preferred:
- Active, transferable vendor relationships within the small-ticket equipment finance segment.
- An established industry network you can leverage to generate production quickly.
- Ability to ramp up quickly and start contributing to new originations with minimal onboarding.
Additional:
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- A self-directed, independent producer who also collaborates well within a team.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent industry experience.
Why This Role
- A key growth seat on an established, respected equipment finance platform.
- Built for producers who value autonomy, accountability, and measurable impact — not layers of management.
- Backed by experienced credit, operations, and servicing teams that understand small-ticket vendor finance and execute deals efficiently.
- Origination-based incentive plan directly tied to what you close, in addition to base compensation.
- Collaborative, relationship-driven culture with direct access to senior leadership.
