Department Summary – Philanthropic Partnerships Department
Led by the Vice President, Philanthropic Partnerships, the Philanthropic Partnerships team at ClimateWorks leads fundraising for the organization and supports efforts to generate funder interest in climate mitigation generally. The Philanthropic Partnerships team works to build strategic relationships with key funders in climate mitigation to support the top climate solutions and introduces new funders to opportunities in climate philanthropy. The team works closely with ClimateWorks Executive, Finance, and Programs teams, Climate Lead, and regional climate foundations.
Essential Tasks
Portfolio Management: The Manager will work with a portfolio of programs and lead all donor activities for the portfolio. The position will lead and support engagement strategies that support and deepen existing donor relationships and help to identify and assess new opportunities to support expanding the number of donors for programs. The Manger will develop and implement annual fundraising plans for their portfolio to support donor track, plan, and execute activities that support fundraising progress. The Manger will partner closely with program leads on donor activities and will develop in-depth knowledge of the program content within their portfolio, as well as organization-wide goals.
Donor Deliverables: The Manager will serve as the project manager for all donor-related materials for their portfolio. They will lead the process to design, prepare, and submit compelling concept notes, proposals, reports, and written materials that support donor deliverables and activities. They will work closely with program staff and colleagues at ClimateWorks to ensure that all donor materials are high-quality and support retaining and increasing support from donors.
Collaboration and Coordination: The Manager will lead internal coordination across ClimateWorks’ departments (Programs, Finance, Strategy, Learning and Impact) on donor activities related to internal and external deliverables. They will work closely with the Philanthropic Partnerships Operations team to ensure that data and information related to donors is properly entered, updated, and maintained in Salesforce. The Manager will coordinate and support internal meetings and information to support donor activity in their portfolio. They will work closely with Philanthropic Partnerships team colleagues and contribute to the growth and development of the team.

ClimateWorks offers an excellent benefits package and a competitive salary that is commensurate with experience (geographic differential applied based on location).
For US-based position the salary range is as follows:
Tier 1: $120K to $125K (SF Bay Area/NYC)
Tier 2: $115K to $120K (Other US Locations)
Location
ClimateWorks Foundation is based in the San Francisco Financial District. This position is classified as US Flexible. Exceptional candidates can work from the SF office or from other locations, geographic differential applied to compensation based on local cost of labor.

Required Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in a fast-paced frontline development/fundraising role.
- Demonstrated success implementing donor engagement strategies and producing high-quality and compelling written content, including proposals, reports, concept notes, and other strategic content for donors.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to interact effectively with donors, executive team, management, and colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to gather information and work in collaboration with multiple teams to meet deadline-driven deliverables.
- Strong critical thinking, research, analytical, and organizational skills. Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, as well as an understanding of donor confidentiality.
- Excellent project management skills with strong attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize working on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting internal and external deadlines.
- Proven experience using CRM (customer relationship management) databases to track/record development activities.
- Willingness to take initiative, problem-solve, and work cross-functionally with colleagues and across departments to support short-term and long-term department and organizational goals.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently (both virtually and in-person) with minimal supervision.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Previous experience/knowledge of climate/environmental issues.
- Experience with Salesforce.
- Experience working with project manage tools, such as Asana.
- Previous experience working with remote teams spread across time zones.
