This client is a specialty finance platform providing capital solutions to non-bank lenders, with a focus on factoring companies, asset-based lenders (ABL), and specialty commercial finance platforms. The firm originates, structures, and manages lender finance transactions across a range of collateral types and structures offering senior & junior lines of credit to finance companies, as well as participation programs and equity/growth capital.
We are seeking a Business Development Officer position in the NORTHEAST to originate, develop, and close new lending relationships within this ecosystem. This is a senior, production-oriented role focused on driving new business volume and expanding market presence in the Northeast.

Qualifications
Experience
10+ years of experience in ABL, factoring, or lender finance (preferred) business development
Demonstrated track record of sourcing and closing transactions
Experience working with or lending to non-bank lenders strongly preferred
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of credit, collateral structures, and loan products
Ability to assess financial statements, borrowing bases, and transaction risk at a high level
Familiarity with lender finance structures, participations, and secured lending
Relationships
Existing network within factoring companies, ABL lenders, or specialty finance platforms strongly preferred
Established industry referral relationships

Key Responsibilities
Origination & Pipeline Development
- Source and originate new lending opportunities with non-bank lenders (factoring companies, ABL platforms, specialty finance firms)
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities through direct outreach and referral channels
- Develop and manage relationships with lenders, brokers, advisors, and other market participants
- Generate new business in line with company credit strategy and target returns
Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary external relationship owner from initial contact through deal closing
- Establish long-term partnerships with clients and referral sources
- Represent Client at industry events, conferences, and meetings
Deal Structuring & Execution
- Perform initial screening of opportunities, including high-level analysis of credit, collateral, and structure
- Work closely with underwriting, credit, and legal teams to structure and execute transactions
- Lead transactions through the full lifecycle: sourcing → structuring → approval → closing
- Act as quarterback between client and internal teams to ensure efficient execution
Production & Market Coverage
- Meet or exceed individual production targets tied to new originations and portfolio growth
- Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and activity tracking
- Provide market feedback on competitive dynamics, pricing, and emerging opportunities
Qualifications
Experience
10+ years of experience in ABL, factoring, or lender finance (preferred) business development
