Labor & Employment Attorney (Non-Partnership Track, Reduced Hours)
A leading AM Law firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney (6+ years) to join its established practice group in a non-partnership track, salaried role. This position offers a reduced billable requirement while maintaining meaningful client interaction and case ownership.
Position Overview:
This role is ideal for a senior associate or counsel-level attorney looking for high-quality work with greater flexibility. The attorney will manage litigation matters independently while collaborating with a broader team on complex employment issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and run labor & employment litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Take and defend depositions, handle hearings, and oversee case strategy
- Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Advise and communicate directly with clients on day-to-day matters
- Work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Minimum 6 years of law firm experience in labor & employment
- Strong litigation experience, including depositions and hearings
- Proven ability to independently manage cases
- Excellent analytical, research, and writing skills
- Active California Bar admission required
- Reduced billable expectation: 1,400-1,700 hours annually
- In office with possible hybrid or remote flexibility within California (major metro areas preferred)
- Salary range: $165,000 - $265,000, depending on experience and qualifications
