Preconstruction Estimator
Location: Doral, FL
Compensation: $90,000-$115,000 base salary + 5-10% annual bonus
Schedule: Full-time
We are partnered with a well-established commercial general contractor headquartered in Doral, FL to add a Preconstruction Estimator to their growing team.
This is a true GC-side estimating role supporting a commercial portfolio that includes private sector and public/FDOT projects. Typical project size is $10M+, and the company is positioned for strong growth over the next 5-6 years as ownership transitions to the next generation.
They are looking for someone who can step in, own full project estimates, and operate confidently within a collaborative estimating team under the Lead Estimator.
Company Overview
The Preconstruction Estimator will be responsible for managing full-cycle commercial project estimates from bid solicitation through turnover to operations. This individual must have true general contractor estimating experience and be comfortable handling complete project scopes.
You will work closely with the Lead Estimator and internal PM teams to ensure accurate pricing, complete scope coverage, and clean project handoffs.

The Preconstruction Estimator will be responsible for managing full-cycle commercial project estimates from bid solicitation through turnover to operations. This individual must have true general contractor estimating experience and be comfortable handling complete project scopes.
You will work closely with the Lead Estimator and internal PM teams to ensure accurate pricing, complete scope coverage, and clean project handoffs.
Key Responsibilities Bid Administration
- Prepare and manage subcontractor bid logs
- Solicit and follow up with subcontractors and vendors
- Assemble and distribute bid packages
- Track deadlines and ensure timely proposal submissions
- Maintain organized electronic bid documentation
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents
- Develop RFIs and clarifications as needed
- Analyze and level subcontractor proposals
- Identify coverage gaps and minimize exclusions
- Ensure full scope alignment prior to submission
- Conduct internal turnover meetings with Project Managers
- Assist with subcontractor buyout and scope validation
- Provide detailed cost breakdowns and trade insights
- Support PM team during early project phases
- Attend pre-bid meetings and site walks
- Support leadership in client interactions
- Build relationships with subcontractors to strengthen bid coverage
Must-Have:
- 3-5+ years of GC-side commercial estimating experience
- Experience handling full project estimates, not just portions
- Experience pricing $10M+ commercial projects preferred
- Strong proficiency in Excel and PlanSwift
- Solid understanding of commercial scopes and trade sequencing
- Residential estimators
- Electrical-only estimators
- Landscaping estimators
- Specialty trade estimators
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $90,000-$115,000
