Accountant

Job Summary
As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial health of a program that
shapes future electricians. This position ensures accurate financial reporting and compliance with
regulatory requirements while working closely with leadership and training staff to maintain
organizational integrity and achieve program goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain general ledgers and process transactions, including monthly close
- Manage accounts payable and receivable; handle vendor interactions using QuickBooks
- Oversee payroll submissions to external service provider
- Prepare monthly bank and petty cash reconciliations
- File state excise tax returns and other regulatory reports
- Improve accounting systems and internal controls
- Maintain confidentiality and foster positive relationships across the organization
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and internal controls
- Critical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office and Excel
- Familiarity with payroll platforms and compliance software
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting standards preferred
- Ability to read and interpret complex agreements
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Accounting/Business or equivalent experience
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Valid driver's license
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA certification or experience in non-profit accounting
