We are hiring for a Tax Manager with a well-established public accounting firm in Davison County, SD to lead complex tax engagements across a diverse client base. We are hiring for a Tax Manager with a well-established public accounting firm in Davison County, SD to lead complex tax engagements across a diverse client base. This role offers a blend of hands-on technical work, client advisory, and team leadership, with the opportunity to influence process improvements, mentor developing professionals, and contribute to the continued growth of a collaborative tax practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation and review of complex individual and business tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Manage tax planning, projections, and research to deliver value driven advisory solutions
- Serve as a primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and providing ongoing tax and accounting support
- Oversee and review tax workpapers and documentation in accordance with firm and professional standards
- Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff while supporting firm wide workload management
- Communicate with tax authorities and handle IRS and state correspondence as needed
- Collaborate across teams to promote consistency, efficiency, and best practices
- Active CPA license required
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master's degree preferred
- 7 to 10 years of progressive public accounting experience with a primary focus on tax
- Strong experience reviewing complex individual and business tax returns
- Demonstrated ability to manage clients, deadlines, and multiple engagements
- Prior experience supervising and mentoring tax professionals
- Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
