Position Overview This bank, a respected and growing regional financial institution, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Market Executive to lead our Middle Market Commercial Banking efforts across Northern New Jersey. This executive role will oversee high-performing commercial banking teams focused on delivering tailored financial solutions to middle market clients with revenues ranging from $25 million to $500 million.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage commercial banking teams across the Northern New Jersey metropolitan market, ensuring strategic alignment and performance excellence.
- Drive Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loan origination and portfolio growth in alignment with bank goals and risk appetite.
- Cultivate and grow core deposit relationships across the region.
- Develop and execute market strategies to expand the bank’s presence and build long-term client relationships.
- Collaborate with credit, treasury, product, and risk partners to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
- Provide strong leadership, mentoring, and coaching to relationship managers and support teams.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in middle market commercial banking, including direct client relationship management.
- Demonstrated success in team leadership within a commercial banking environment.
- Deep knowledge of C&I lending, portfolio management, and deposit acquisition strategies.
- Strong credit skills; formal credit training required.
- Proven track record of business development, client retention, and portfolio growth.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and strategic planning skills.
- Existing network of middle market clients and referral sources within the Northern New Jersey area.
- Experience working in a regional or super-regional bank environment.
- Familiarity with ESOP structures and experience managing performance-based teams.
