Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead the design and execution of high-voltage transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV. This is a fully remote position, though preference is given to candidates based in Georgia or the surrounding region for occasional site visits or in-person meetings. The ideal candidate is self-driven, collaborative, and thrives in a flexible, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end design and analysis of overhead transmission lines, including route selection, structure modeling, conductor sag/tension calculations, and plan/profile drawings.
- Utilize industry-standard software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and PLS-TOWER to complete design work.
- Prepare engineering documents, construction packages, and technical reports in compliance with NESC, client standards, and applicable codes.
- Support proposal development, scope definition, cost estimating, and project planning efforts.
- Serve as a technical mentor to junior engineers and review their work for accuracy and quality.
- Coordinate with clients, utilities, and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, maintaining scope, schedule, and budget expectations.
- B.S. in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering (required); M.S. preferred.
- Minimum of 6–10 years of experience in transmission line engineering.
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD and other industry software.
- Strong understanding of NESC, ASCE, and utility-specific standards.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred); GA PE or ability to obtain preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage remote collaboration effectively.
