Senior Accountant - Cincinnati

We are hiring a Senior Accountant for a well established mechanical contracting and construction services company. This role partners closely with the Controller and Accounting team to support general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month end and year end close processes while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational accounting activities, and contributing to the integrity of companywide financial reporting.
 
Responsibilities

• Perform general ledger account reconciliations including bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare journal entries and assist with monthly and year end close processes
• Maintain vendor records and support vendor setup and compliance documentation
• Process internal company invoicing and assist with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable activities
• Review weekly payroll reporting for accuracy and completeness
• Process daily receipts and maintain supporting documentation
• Collaborate with the Controller and Accounting team to support financial reporting and operational accounting activities
• Perform additional accounting duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of accounting experience, preferably within contracting, construction, or service based environments - At least three years of senior level accounting experience with strong general ledger exposure - Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred - Strong Excel skills with solid analytical and reconciliation experience - Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills - Ability to maintain confidentiality and work collaboratively across teams - Valid driver's license required
