Special Assets professional to join their organization.
 
Opportunity Overview
Our Client is seeking an experienced SBA Special Assets Manager to lead the execution of SBA workouts, liquidations, and recoveries across a complex portfolio of distressed and high-risk credits.
This role is designed for a hands-on, outcome-driven professional who independently manages special assets cases end-to-end and is accountable for loss mitigation and recovery results.
 
Key Responsibilities
- Independently manage a pipeline of SBA loans requiring workout, liquidation, or special assets intervention, with full ownership of strategy and execution.
- Lead SBA workout and liquidation strategies to minimize losses and maximize recoveries while preserving SBA guaranty where applicable.
- Serve as the internal subject-matter expert for complex, defaulted, or high-risk SBA credits.
- Coordinate directly with internal credit leadership, outside legal counsel, the SBA, and other third parties to resolve distressed assets.
- Ensure all special assets activities comply with internal policies, banking regulations, and SBA SOP requirements.
- Provide regular reporting to senior leadership on distressed credit status, recoveries, liquidation progress, and guaranty outcomes.
- Conduct annual reviews as required for SBA loans in special assets status.
- Exercise sound judgment and independence in decision-making without reliance on routine servicing or portfolio management functions.
 
Experience & Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of progressive experience in SBA Special Assets, workouts, and liquidations.
- Demonstrated success managing complex distressed SBA credits and driving recoveries.- Strong working knowledge of SBA SOP, guaranty requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working directly with outside legal counsel and the SBA on defaulted loan resolutions.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail and documentation standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and SBA CAFS applications.
