COMPANY: Our client is a leading Aerospace & Defense manufacturer with more than 80 years of experience delivering flight-critical components and assemblies to top defense and commercial aerospace companies. The Connecticut facility is one of two "Centers of Excellence," specializing in turbine engine machining, and is part of a 200,000+ sq. ft. operation employing over 200 highly skilled professionals.
JOB: We are seeking an experienced Programmer / Process Engineer to join the team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing programs and processes for new and existing customer projects. You will work closely with others in engineering, programming, suppliers, and vendors to ensure all aspects of the manufacturing process are done effectively.
To succeed in this role, you'll need strong knowledge of CNC and manual machining, GD&T, blueprint reading, and inspection methods, as well as proficiency with CAD/CAM software. Experience creating documentation such as travelers, operation sheets, and process specifications, along with the ability to take a product from blueprint to production is required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Creating complete processes with programs for (up to 5 axis) milling (and turning: a plus) for aerospace components
- Operation sheets, modelling, tool design, process creation, machining and inspection support
- All other functions needed to successfully process machined aerospace components from inception of material and blueprint or model to package and ship

Qualifications & Requirements:
- 10+ years' experience in milling and turning CNC shops creating Aerospace components
- Programming and Process Engineering using CAD/CAM software (NX and/or CATIA is preferred)
- CAD model creation and modification
- Creation of operation sheets and supporting documents for milling (and turning) operations
- Tool design (work-holding / fixturing) and knowledge of cutting tools and best chip removal practices
- Reading and interpretation of Blueprint and specifications
- Ability to effectively communicate w colleagues
- Supporting machining and inspection (including CMM models)
